For silken hair

A foreign woman has her hair washed with water boiled with "changpo" (sweet flag), an herb known to make hair shiny, at the National Folk Museum of Korea, Seoul, Sunday, five days before "Dano," the fifth day of the fifth lunar month, which was traditionally celebrated by farmers to wish for a good harvest after rice planting. The hair washing with changpo is believed to expel evil spirits.  / Yonhap
